Inspired by her own experiences as a parent, educator and artist, Aloha brings the lessons and healing wisdom of ancient Hawaii to individuals, couples and families.
Kumu Aloha Kekoolani has served for many years as a high school and college teacher and has had the honor of appearing as a guest speaker at universities and conferences around the country. Her love and understanding of young people has made her a favorite kupuna (respected elder) among children and teenagers. Her varied life experiences as a single parent, professional entertainer and artist have made her the ideal mentor and friend to adult students of all ages.
Aloha’s Na’au Poi philosophy is the touchstone of her educational mission. With its
emphasis on ancient social values, Na’au Poi is at once old and new. It is a system
of thought, resonant with classic “Hawaiian Thinking”, that offers a radically spiritual
approach to exploring sociological, anthropological and ethnographic facets of Hawaiian
culture. Aloha asserts that the ancient Hawaiian person’s consciousness was grounded
simultaneously in precision and logic on one hand and intuition and religious ritual
